Dispensaries
For several years, the Pocatello Animal Control and Parks and Recreation Departments have coordinated a campaign to encourage pet owners to clean up after their dogs on public lands, particularly City parks, and on private property belonging to others.
In 2007, the number of
locations for "Mutt Mitt" bags (bags to pick up after pets) was expanded. This expansion was part of an education
campaign associated with requirements of the newly issued federal National
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System storm water permit issued to the City of
Reducing the amount of
animal fecal material that is washed into the streets, storm drains and
subsequently the
Pet owners are encouraged to call Animal Control at 234-6156 if they have questions regarding the campaign or issues related to cleaning up after their pets.
