The Planning Services Division is charged with overseeing the orderly growth and development of Pocatello. Some of the principal functions of the department include:
- Collection of data and the presentation of reports or studies pertinent to a multitude of land use decisions.
- Preparation and administration of the City's Comprehensive Plan and appropriate land use ordinances (e.g., the Zoning, Sign & Subdivision Ordinances).
- Staff support and coordination with the following organizations for the betterment of the community:
- Enforcement of all codes related to land use, signage, and property maintenance in Pocatello Coordination of enforcement of the Zoning Ordinances with Pocatello Police Department Code Enforcement Officers.
- Completion of special projects as may be assigned by the City Council or Mayor.
Fees associated with processing land use applications are set annually by resolution of the City Council.
