NEW INTERACTIVE EXHIBIT AT CITY HALL
Citizens Encouraged to See “When it Rains it Drains” Display
| Citizens are invited to stop by Pocatello City Hall, 911 North 7th Avenue, to learn what you and your neighbors can do at home to improve the Portneuf River. The City of Pocatello has a new interactive exhibit on display, highlighting the small steps everyone can take to help clean the Portneuf River. | ![]() |
Storm water is the runoff water we see on our streets, parking lots and driveways when it rains or snow melts. This water picks up all the dirt, trash, oil, salt and fertilizer on our roads and lawns. Within Pocatello, storm water is the primary sources of pollution to the river. The storm drains outside of our homes and offices take storm water directly to the Portneuf River. See this process in action by visiting City Hall any time through the end of 2008. After the first of the year, the exhibit will move to the Marshall Public Library, Portneuf District Library and Chubbuck City Hall and will remain at each location for about three (3) months. The exhibit is on loan from the City of Boise with modifications specific to Pocatello’s system. For more information about the storm water exhibit, contact Hannah Sanger, City Environmental Educator, at 234-6518. |
