NOVEMBER DISPLAYS AT THE MARSHALL PUBLIC LIBRARY

Pocatello’s Marshall Public Library, 113 South Garfield Avenue, announces the displays for the month of November.

He’s been called the Jolly Old Elf, Father Christmas, St. Nicholas, and Kris Kringle. Whatever you may call him, you can view a Santa Claus display during November. Included are ornaments, figurines, dolls, containers, etc. Start your holiday celebration early this year by viewing nearly 50 different Santas.

The gift-giving season is right around the corner, and on display at the Library are items from the Alternative Gift Market. The current display shows some of the items that can be purchased at the Alternative Gift Market and Ten Thousand Villages Craft Fair on November 15, 2008. Ten Thousand Villages sells crafts and art produced in the Third World, and the profit is returned to the artisans who would otherwise be unemployed. This income helps pay for food, education, health care and housing. Come view this unique display, and attend the craft fair.

Although he’s widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language, relatively little is known about William Shakespeare’s private life. Come see the display of books by and about the Bard along with some interesting trivia about his life and works.

The Department of Health & Welfare has created an interesting display with information about becoming a Foster Parent and about the children waiting for a loving adoptive family.

Veterans Day, initially known as Armistice Day, observes the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when the fighting ceased in World War I. On this 90th anniversary, World War I memorabilia will be displayed, as well as World War I poetry.

All of these displays can be found on the second floor of the Library. Please call 232-1263 ext. 22 for more information.
