ANNUAL LEAF COLLECTION SET TO BEGIN
Special Collection Runs November 3 through 29, 2008
The City of Pocatello’s Sanitation Department is ready to begin its annual leaf collection. This year the special service will begin November 3, 2008 and the last day will be November 29, 2008.
Residents are asked to set out bags or boxes of leaves in the same location and at the same time as regular garbage. Crews will pick up the leaves on the same day as your garbage service. There is a weight limit for the bags or boxes notes Sanitation Superintendent Randy Allen. “The leaf containers should only be 25 pounds or less. Anything heavier than that may be left behind.”
Anyone who would prefer to burn leaves rather than have them collected should contact the Pocatello Fire Department for a burn permit before burning. As a reminder, there is no burning of any kind in the Johnny Creek area or any of the benches designated “high hazard fire areas.” Call the Fire Department at 234-6201 or 234-7071 for more information about burn permits.
For additional information about the special leaf collection, contact the City Sanitation Department at 234-6192.
