HOSPICE PROGRAM AT LOCAL LIBRARIES
Free Class Offered on Two Dates and Two Times

People often have wills in place to determine who gets their material possessions but neglect to specify how they want to be medically treated and who can make medical decisions for them at the end of their lives. Do you want to be resuscitated? Do you want to live on life support? Under what conditions do you want your life maintained? These are intensely personal and sometimes forgotten questions, and if you are among the 60% of Idahoans who do not have a living will, these are questions that family members or even medical staff will have to answer for you.

Roberta Wold and Dona Robinson, Licensed Social Workers from Alliance Home Health and Hospice, will discuss the importance of these end-of-life decisions for Idahoans. On December 4, 2008, they will be available for questions at Pocatello's Marshall Public Library, 113 South Garfield Avenue, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and then again from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. On December 10, they will be at Chubbuck's Portneuf Library from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Roberta and Dona will answer any questions regarding end-of-life decisions and explain the options available as well as provide forms for the Living Will/Durable Power of Attorney and the new Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment. In addition, there will be a CD presentation explaining the different options available to the community for health care. These presentations are free and open to the public.

If you have any questions, please call Amy at the Marshall Library at 232-1263 ext. 22 or Jeanne at the Portneuf Library at 237-2192.
