NEW GREENWAY TRAIL COMPLETED
Opening Set for October 29, 2008

The City of Pocatello invites everyone to take a walk or ride their bike on the newest section of completed greenway trail: the Taysom Trail. The official opening is set for Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.

Linking the AMI Trail to the Maag-Shadyside Trail, this ADA compliant section of trail through IFFT lilac park links two very popular sections of greenway trail. It also creates a contiguous approximately three (3) mile section of paved trail from Cheyenne Crossing to the Bannock Humane Society on Barton Road.

Thank you to Bannock County and all the private businesses and citizens that made this trail possible and donated countless dollars, services and time: Wayne and Pam Taysom, JK Merrill and Sons, Acon, Superior Paving, Mikkelson Construction, and Western Equipment. A special thanks to Del Owens and Ed Bala and the rest of the Portneuf Greenway Foundation for coordinating this crucial link of greenway trail. The City is looking forward to working with the Greenway Foundation to complete additional sections of trail in the future.

Free greenway trail maps are available at the Chamber of Commerce, 324 South Main Street.
