ANNUAL WATER SYSTEM FLUSHING BEGINS NOVEMBER 4, 2008
Fire Hydrant Systems will be Flushed over the Next Few Week

The City’s Water Department will be conducting their annual system flushing beginning November 4, 2008, and dependant upon scheduling may take several weeks to complete. The purpose for flushing the system is to make sure fire hydrants are operational and to flush the water system.

During these weeks, citizens can expect wet streets in areas with hydrants, as well as full gutters. Motorists are advised to avoid driving through hydrant streams and near the flushing crews. In addition, residents may have water that appears milky after the flushing has occurred. This is caused from stirring the sediment in the lines. If this occurs, please let your water run for a minute or so, and the problem should clear up immediately.
