DROP-OFF RECYCLING BOXES REPAINTED AND RECONFIGURED
Design Allows More Room for Popular Items

Debbie Brady, the City of Pocatello’s Recycling Coordinator, announced today that the City has completed its project to repaint and reconfigure the volunteer recycling boxes. These are the large drop-off boxes located at various sites around the community.

The Sanitation Department had the drop-off boxes repainted and restenciled, so they now show accurate information of what can be recycled. The boxes were also reconfigured to allow plastics and milk jugs to go together and tin cans and aluminum cans to go together. “We found that some bins fill up more quickly than others,” said Ms. Brady. “Since it didn’t make a difference to our contractor, we changed the bins to give citizens more room to recycle popular items.”

The six recycling sites are:

City Hall, 911 North 7th Avenue
Near the entrance to Sister Cities Park on Pocatello Creek Road
ISU Annex, 325 East Putnam Street
Ridley’s Market, 911 North Main Street
K-Mart on Poleline Road
Rainey Park on South Arthur Avenue

All six sites collect newspaper, junk mail, magazines, telephone books, office paper, milk jugs, plastic bottles, tin cans, aluminum cans/foil and cardboard. Please remember to crush or break down all items to make more room in the bins.
