Become a Pocatello firefighter!
The Pocatello Fire Department hires from a list compiled from placement on the Civil Service exam.  The exam takes place in January of odd numbered years. To take the exam an application must be submitted to the City of Pocatello’s Human Resource department.  The application deadline in usually November of even numbered years.

Pocatello Fire Department Apparatus…
The Pocatello Fire Department apparatus is comprised of 4 pumper trucks in front-line service, 1 rescue unit, 1 aerial ladder truck, 1 airport rescue truck, 4 brush rigs, 4 pumpers in reserve, 1 hazardous materials emergency response vehicle, 2 ALS ambulances, 5 BLS reserve ambulances, and 2 ambulances in South Bannock County – Lava and Downey.
