Since 1978,
the Pocatello Fire Department has contracted with
Bannock County to provide ambulance services. The
Pocatello Fire Department provides Advanced Life
Support (ALS) Services throughout Bannock County. ALS ambulances are staffed by full-time paramedics who respond from two Pocatello fire stations. Basic
Life Support (BLS)
ambulances are staffed by dedicated on-call volunteers who respond from the
cities of Downey and Lava Hot Springs, providing service to emergencies in
southern Bannock County. |

During 2006 the Ambulance Service
responded on 4762 calls. This
is an increase of 31.2% in 10 years. 74.4% of the
calls were in Pocatello, 13.3% in Chubbuck, and
11.2% were in the remainder of the county. Call
