When does the City Council meet?

Regular City Council meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at 6:00 P.M. and Study Sessions are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 9:00 A.M. The City Council meets in the Council Chambers at 911 North 7th Avenue .

How do I find out what is on the Council agenda?

Council agendas are posted on the City's web site and a hard copy is on the bulletin board in the front lobby at City Hall. Copies of the agenda are also available in the Mayor's Office.

How can I get copies of City Council Meeting minutes?

If you fill out a “Written Request to Examine Records,” we can make Council meeting minutes available for examination or you can have copies for a nominal fee. Forms can be obtained from the Mayor's Office.

Which Council Member represents my area?

The City Council is composed of six members who serve 4-year terms. Council Members are elected at-large so all Council Members represent all of the citizens living in Pocatello rather than one geographical location.

How do I contact a Council Member or the Mayor?

You can reach the Council Members and Mayor by e-mail at City.Council @pocatello.us. Letters and other correspondence can be left at the Mayor's Office, mailed to P.O. Box 4169, Pocatello, Idaho 83205, or faxed to 234-6297. You may also leave a message for a Council Member at the Mayor's Office by calling 234-6163.

How can I get copies of City Ordinances?

If you fill out a “Written Request to Examine Records,” we can make City Ordinances available for examination or you can have copies for a nominal fee. Forms can be obtained from the Mayor's Office.

How can I get copies of City Codes?

City Codes are available on our web site. Pocatello Municipal Code books are also located at the Marshall Public Library and the Mayor's Office. Copies of code sections are available for a nominal fee after completing a “Written Request to Examine Records,” which can be obtained from the Mayor's Office.

Can the Mayor perform wedding ceremonies?

Under Idaho law, only Judges, Mayors, Priests and Ministers can perform weddings. The Mayor performs weddings during regular business hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. at City Hall. The Mayor does not charge a fee for this service but a small donation is suggested.

Couples must obtain their marriage licenses from the Bannock County Clerk's Office.
