The City of Pocatello's main computer is an IBM iSeries (AS/400) Model 810. Along with the iSeries seen in the picture, the City also has two IBM RS/6000's and an IBM Server 500. We have an IBM token-ring and Ethernet network connecting all the computers throughout City Hall.

Computer Information Systems
The Computer Information Technology department currently has 6 employees. one Senior Programmer/Analyst, one Programmer, one iSeries Operator, one Network Administrator, one Network Technician, and a Director to coordinate.

Responsibilities

The Computer Information Technology department is responsible for the maintenance and purchase of all the City's computer equipment. The City is committed to staying up to date with technology. Our department feels that the City's communication system is an invaluable tool. As the Internet brings the City government closer to the citizens, the City leaders will have a better understanding of what is important to the people of Pocatello. Managing the information for the City is very important. Misinformation could cost the City thousands. This is why our department coordinates all computer hardware and software purchased.
