The Animal Control Department coordinates all animal control activities within the boundaries of Pocatello and manages the animal shelter located in Upper Ross Park. The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday and provides educational tours and volunteer programs for all age groups. Public presentations by employees can be scheduled and written information on animal issues is available by contacting the shelter office.
The shelter's volunteer program is very popular and is open to anyone 16 years or older. Individuals interested in volunteering are encouraged to contact the shelter Volunteer Coordinator.
The shelter advertises adoptable pets through the online service PetFinder.com, the Idaho State Journal, and three times a week on NBC Channel 6. |
